Dr. Jeffrey Mjaanes discusses Osgood Schlatter Disease, Overuse Injuries and Concussions in Young Athletes. Dr. Mjaanes is Assistant Professor, Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Pediatrics, Rush University Medical Center?and?Director, Chicago Sports Concussion Clinic at Rush.
Dr. Mjaanes is dedicated to caring for our youngest athletes. As part of his sports medicine practice, Dr. Mjaanes serves as head team physician for?Simeon Career Academy High School?and serves as consulting physician for?Mount Carmel High School. He also sees hundreds of local young athletes from various wrestling, basketball, hockey, soccer, rugby, and gymnastics clubs.
At the collegiate level, Dr. Mjaanes serves as a head physician for the?DePaul University Blue Demons. He sees DePaul athletes from all sports weekly in the training room on campus and also serves on the sidelines at home men’s and women’s basketball and soccer games. Dr. Mjaanes also volunteers as the as head team physician for?Trinity International University?and is medical director of their Athletic Training Program. At TIU he also sees athletes weekly in the training room and covers fall football games. [09:46]
