In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer.

Patti Piasecki is back at it again, training for her 5th year as a swimming fundraiser in the Chicago Swim Across America (SAA) event, the largest national non-profit organization with the mission to fund cancer research at world-renowned hospitals, including Rush University Medical Center.

As a Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush orthopedic oncology nurse practitioner, cancer patients are near and dear to her heart.

On July 23rd, Patti will take off from Ohio Street Beach and continue out into Lake Michigan for a half mile. With daughter Morgan and MOR physician assistant Kyle Pilz on her team, she will swim with the hope that each stroke brings her closer to drowning out cancer.

Patti’s goal is to raise ?crazy amounts of funding? along with her team and the other participants. MOR is proud of Patti?s contributions in the fight against cancer.
