The squat is an extremely versatile exercise, with many different variations. Bodybuilders, powerlifters, athletes, and those just looking to get into shape can all use the squat to achieve their fitness goals. While the squat is a great exercise for losing weight, improving strength and power, and accomplishing hypertrophy, it presents some drawbacks.
One of the primary drawbacks is an elevated risk of injury. Some of the most common injuries in the gym result from using incorrect form while squatting.
