Segment Two – Christine Licata from ATI Physical Therapy discusses common injuries experienced by novice runners; training errors that contribute to injuries; proper warm up, form, distance, recovery, frequency, gait, pace and shoes.
Christine graduated from the University of Delaware in 2002 with a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science, a concentration in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Strength & Conditioning. She also received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Widener University in 2005. Christine has been employed with ATI for the past five years specializing in the care of pre and post operative orthopedic patients as well as middle school through collegiate level athletes.
Prior to ATI, she worked at the Children?s Hospital of Philadelphia for three years specializing in the orthopedic/sports medicine adolescent patient population. Christine is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and recently completed a Sports Physical Therapy Certification through Evidence in Motion.
